My name is Anya Carroll, and I am a freshman at the University of Tampa. My majors are political science and advertising and public relations. I am very passionate about both fields, so I am enjoying taking classes in both areas. I am from North Hampton, England, but I moved to Indiana in elementary school. I moved with my Mom, Dad, and older brother. Since moving to the United States my family have gotten a dog, and we have even started fostering puppies which I love to do. I have always wanted to move to Florida because I love the warm weather, so I was very excited to come here for college. My hobbies include music and watching movies. I did choir all through out middle school and high school, and my friends and I love getting together to watch movies. I also loved swimming and running in high school, even though I was not very good. 

    I am not very good with computers and technology, so I am very excited for this class. I definitely hope that it will help me feel more comfortable around technology, as well as teach me how to use Adobe Creative Cloud, Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign. This class will also really help me with one of my majors, advertising and public relations, because having a basic understanding of how to use these programs and being comfortable around these kinds of technologies are important in order to be successful in this field.

Postcard

This is a postcard for Spain that I made on Adobe InDesign. I placed images of Spanish beaches, and used the Text Tool to add the phrase "Spanish Beaches". I used the selection tool to move around the images of the beaches and organize them on the front of the postcard. Next, I added another horizontal page and used the line tool to add the lines for writing. I also used the brush tool to add my tag brush, and added a wavy line around it. Lastly, I used the text tool to add the words "Spanish beaches" to the top of the page.  Business card sketches:

Calligram Project

     The sketch above is the inspiration that I used for my calligram.  Artist Statement      For my Calligram Project, I created a picture of my future self on her way to work. In the letter that I wrote to myself in twenty years, I talked a lot about my career and how I hope it is still important to me. I  worked really hard all through out high school in order to get into the University of Tampa, and I am working really hard now and double majoring in order to get my degree, so I really want all of this hard work to have payed off in twenty years. Because of this, my biggest hope for my future self is that I continued to work hard and I became successful.       I used Adobe Illustrator to outline a sketch that I drew of my future self.
