 Illustrator Homework 1

In your Blog:
  1. imbed the videos with included link
  2. under each video write 1-2 paragraphs if you think which tool/tools will be easy or hard to use, how you might use it and what you find interesting about the video.

This video discussed every single tool available in illustrator. It also told you how to use them, and their short cuts. The video displayed the selection tool, which is the most fundamental tool. The short cut is the letter V, and you just click or drag and to move, scale, rotate and round corners. The video also discussed the bend tool, which is also one of the most popular and useful tools. The short cut is the letter B. There is also a pen tool that you can use to draw paths. The short cut for this tool is the letter P. Out of all of these tools, I think that the bend tool will be the hardest to use.

This video discussed the very basics of how to use illustrator. The video first shows you how to create and save a document with command M and command S. It also showed you how to zoom in and out of illustrator with control plus and minus. Next, the video talked about layers, how you can hide and show, and lock and unlock layers on the layers panel. One of the basic tools that the video talks about is the rectangle tool, which you hit M on your key board to bring up, and this tool allows for you to create a rectangle on your page. Because all of the tools displayed in the video are very basic, I do not think any of them will be particularly difficult to use.

The last video just discussed how to use the pen tool for illustrator, which is important because you will be using the pen tool a lot. Being able to use the pen tool is an important skill for a graphic designer because it necessary when working with logos. The pen tool is used to create paths that will eventually become shapes and designs. It is easier to make open paths than closed paths. You just select the pen tool on the left hand side, and then select your control points. The pen tool does seem like one of the harder tools to use.
